Its UI looks simple, but it can be a nightmare for first time users. Procreate is better if you have a more complex art style, but it still works with simplistic styles. It has a far superior watercolor system compared to Procreate and plenty more rulers and fill patterns. Sketches works best with simplistic art styles (and noobs) due to its intuitive UI and the fact that all the brushes are listed as variations of the base tools (excluding the cutter it only has one job!) It supports layers only in Pro. Looking forward to your comments on these apps.

I can't believe they expect someone with an iPad Pro 12.9" to use portrait mode, but that's just me. I am NOT interested in any coloring apps with portrait-only mode, which disqualifies many of the App Store apps right away.

I have played around with the free version of Lake and the free version of Tayasui Sketches. I am not an artist, but learning some basics would be fun. Which have the best tools and colors and provide an overall satisfying experience. Some of these are subscription-based, which I don't like, but I am more interested in which of these apps people enjoy using the most. Tayasui also has an app called Doodle Book. I am looking at opinions on coloring and drawing apps, and mostly want opinions on these four: Lake Coloring, Pigment, (both are primarily coloring apps), and Procreate and Tayasui Sketches, the latter two of which seem to be primarily drawing and possibly coloring?).
